Our daughter was going to sleep on the pullout, but she is tall and since we were driving, we have a very nice air mattress we brought with us and there was plenty of room in the living room. Decided to stay at Best Western in Coos Bay as central location. Parking was a breeze and all rooms have exterior access - nice if you can get the first floor. You see the coffee. The price was right and the staff was friendly and more than helpful when answering questions. A bit outdated and the breakfast seemed to start late. It was also handy to have access to the business center with two internet connected computers and printer (at no extra charge !) Would definitely stay again. Each Best Western hotel provides free internet access, giving guests the opportunity to check emails and surf the web, all from the comforts of their room or the business center. We arrived to see this place looked like a motel. Robert K, Palos Verdes USA, United States, djptravel, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Jay/patricia J, San Jose, Ca, United States, MermaidCottages, Tybee Island, Georgia, USA. Looks dated old and old style. Great golf courses close to the hotel. There were no extra pillows in the room, for the pullout, and my husband went down and they had none left. Thus, it does not work as a white noise option to help cancel that out. Not a destination sight just a place to stay. We can always count on BW for comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff and excellent over all service. Indoor pool and hot tub were a nice addition after a long day of driving. Very spacious with all the necessary amenities. AT DOOR parking (like within 3 feet), good hot brkfst (eggs, potatoes, sausage, muffins, danish, orange j, coffee, etc.) I mean, we could see it from our room. This hotel is sandwiched between the 3 north-bound lanes of US101 and the 3 south-bound lanes of US101. Carpet filthy and worn out. Indoor pool and spa was nice too. My family loved it. They were going to charge me $160 for a room that I ended up paying $113 for. I went down to the coast to get away from the busy City. I didn't have to worry about what to feed my toddler, we just woke up and went to breakfast! We were travelling through and only stayed one night, so location was great, and hot tub, pool, and hot breakfast were all fine. Great place for a one night stay. Vwry nice people work here, room furnishings are very nice and comfortable, just dont take a room by the road even at a discount lots of road noise on both ends of the motel. I think being on the first floor or near the pool might have been noisy as the hotel was full. Breakfast had some healthier eating options, like yogurt, boiled eggs, & fruit. There was still ice in the sink when we checked in around 7 pm. Linens and towels were of high quality, well laundered and abundant. Rooms were fine and clean enough. The shower handle was hard to figure out, but eventually we got it. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast staff Sirra and the manger Joe are 2 of the rudest people I have ever met. I would guess from the last time we stayed the hotel had to of replaced the quality of the beds that they purchase because I would have not picked this hotel again had they been horrible in the past. It did not feel safe to us. It was a comfortable night. The staff was great helping us find the best viewing spot. The linens were soft and clean. I really also enjoy the Motel's pool and hot tub and the full breakfast us a plus. Room was nice size. It had a large roll-in shower with a shower chair. If we return we will chose to stay here again. On this date I was having trouble logging onto the 'net and needed to get the live stream of my hometown news since a hurricane had run over my house (in TLH) the night before. I expected more from Best Western! I was tired at the end of the day, and after enjoying the hot tub & pool, I landed on the bed and didnt want to get up -- so comfortable, it wrapped itself around me! Breakfast room is small & crowded. Because this property is located between the northbound & southbound lanes of highway 101, there was some occasional traffic noise. Come and experience our hotel near the major tourist attractions. It's hard for me to determine value cuz my company paid for the room. This was my first time at Best Western. I think the prices are very reasonable. While the place is not the worst by any means it's not what I feel comfortable in when away from my home. Good hot breakfast included (eggs, sausage, home fries plus all the usual breads and cereals -- with enough tables and chairs for a crowd. We took our dogs to the beach and had some dirty towels and clothes to wash and were very happy to discover a washer and dryer for guest use. Hotel staff did have a very rude guest on the phone and she handled it very professionally while I was standing there. The property is located right between two one-way streets on 101, so it gets traffic noise. We stayed here on 8/21/18. We got a two room suite that overlooked one of these roads and there was a little bit of noise but nothing that disturbed our sleep. Had a great time went shopping 8 hour in restaurants visited friends looked at the VA, went to the beach all in all it was a great stay. We wound up driving south to this small fish and chips place and getting it to go. The staff at Best Western Holiday Hotel in Coos Bay, Oregon greeted me at once and allowed me to check in when I arrived at 1:15 p.m. ahead of the 3:00 p.m. time; she also gave me a choice of 1st or 2nd floor room, which I appreciated greatly. We would definitely stay here again and will plan to do so again soon. Front desk staff were excellent and gave us a sheet with directions to a number of restaurants within walking distance. Great breakfast and very clean. The location is so-so. Building is a little old. A month later, after multiple calls and never receiving a call back I was finally able to talk to the General Manger this is when he told me I was told different by his staff and that my discount wasn't offered for that stay. This is a very nice hotel with a very accommodating staff. I would definitely come back. The front desk staff were friendly and offered a list of local restaurants for dinner. But overall I would come back again. Best regards! The property lies between the Southbound lanes of the major road going into town and the Northbound lanes leading out. Breakfast was mayhem. The hotel is older and most of the rooms have an outside entry. I have easily stayed there 15 times over the last couple of years. Great stay. We spent three nights here and were generally pleased with everything: the room, the indoor pool, the breakfast. And, the staff was very nice. It was a bit expensive for the money and expectations were for a great hotel. It's right on Highway 101, with access to the beach and Brandon is jut 30 minutes away. Very good breakfast with eggs and waffles the kids loved. On the plus side the WiFi worked great and there hot breakfast was very nice. Very clean rooms. Never used the pool but it looked ok. Once again, thank you for taking the time in giving us your feedback. They also sell water, beer and a couple of split bottles of wine in the lobby. There was no noise, in spite of being between two highways. The hotel is literally one block from downtown. So if road noise bothers you you may need to look elsewhere. Front curtains didn't close very well. Great staff, pleasant to deal with, quick to help. Why this property would not have USA Today like most others is out of touch. The bathroom is in the front room which is always my preference - that way someone can stay asleep in the bedroom while others are up in the other room. Room clean and comfortable. how can you expect to lengthrn when there is nothing more to say. I chose the Best Western Holiday Hotel. Entrance on either side 101. It wasn't so bad for the value that you pay. The location is kind of unusual, sandwiched between two main thoroughfares, so there was a concern that it might be noisy. We were very pleased to stay here on Saturday night of the Memorial Day weekend on our way home to WA. Our room was very large and we especially liked the sink outside of the bathroom. The hot tub was great after the stress of the day. The hotel was its usual clean and pleasant place, with a reasonable breakfast bar. Very conveniently located right on the main highway across from the Coos Bay Boardwalk and within walking distance of most of what you'll be interested in in town. I was looking for some space so I could do some work and it was more than adequate. The check-in staff was excellent. Breakfast was very good but awkwardly laid out (split into two rooms). We upgraded to a suite and were very happy with the layout of the room. We ended up here after an ill-fated attempt to stay at Quality Inn, which was an absolute no go. Safe and ample parking. I always reccommend this to friends and family. Only stayed there one night due to being booked solid. Internet was down in the morning so could not update. It seemed like a sleepy beach town for a Sunday night, kinda like a place where a scooby doo mystery might happen. There is a tiny “boardwalk” that has a “pirate” ship that does cruises, even on Sunday! Not many options in the area so it was good enough. The property looks rather plain vanilla and is in a semi-industrial area. We would never stay here again. The breakfast is the great and the kids always love the pool. Staff was very friendly and breakfast is on par with most places that bundle it in the room price. The rates are reasonable, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are always friendly and willing to help. Show More / Less. very pleasant stff and very accomodating. We were fortunate we got a room on the weekend without previos booking as we wrer traveling the Coast highway and really did not know where we would end up.Very good choice. We appreciate the fact that they are pet friendly, and that the rooms don't smell like pets. The breakfast is very good, liked that there was an egg white omelet option, with healthier turkey sausage (some less guilt in eating these 2). The WiFi was excellent. They had 24 hr security which was comforting. Only thing unexpected was the amount of homeless in the area, though not acosting. The second day we left at 10 am. It fit us and our teenage grandson quite nicely. Plenty of pillows, extra towels, and an extra blanket. Our location is across the street from the waterfront and within easy walking distance to downtown with shopping and restaurants. The style is outdated and could use a refresh to breathe more life into it. Great service, very clean, great location in proximity to things to do in the area. We drove from the Seattle area and traveling back home to San Francisco because we are pretty dumb, we should have just flown..but we ended up loving it because we decided to take the coastal route from Portland to Eureka basically because we wanted some cool instagram pictures and on the way. We stayed 1 night out of 14 on our Pacific Coast Bike Trip with friends. The hotel is nothing special to look at from the outside. I cancelled the reservation via Expedia 1.5 weeks prior. We were given the very last room on the ground floor next to the road. The breakfast was excellent as well as the breakfast staff. A special “Thank you” to the management of the Best Western Holiday, Coos Bay. Some noise can be heard from the highway as the hotel is in the middle of two one way streets that make up 101. Convenient to walk to most downtown Coos Bay locations and waterfront. Beds were new and very comfortable, however they could add a few firm pillows to the mix provided. We enjoyed the size of the suite, but discovered that someone with mobility issues could not get into the tub to take a shower. The room seems clean, although the bathroom seems to be a lot of the original pieces, prob from the 80's. It's in a busy location but good breakfast and nice walk down the street to the Coos Bay Boardwalk which was the highlight for me. They offer soft drinks, water and beer for purchase in the lobby. We will surely be staying here again. This is an updated motel, with better than average (tho not great by any means) breakfast buffet, and very nice staff. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to waterfront and downtown businesses. Not much better than a motel 6. This is an older place but it has been kept up nicely and the bed, furniture, shower, carpet and everything was newer. I would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and courteous. Friendly staff and kids loved the pool. However, what we found once checked in was the rooms clean and the staff polite, professional and attentive to our needs and the overall location very convenient to our business. Its only because of the disturbance not allowing a later morning rise that I had a problem with the property, So if you're an early riser, this is a good hotel slightly above a reasonable price point for a BW property. The room was very comfortable and the hot breakfast was filling. The breakfast was fine except there was no Gluten free bread. Upon arrival, the workers were jackhammering pavement almost right outside the room. I haven't been disappointed with this BW in Coos Bay. Easy walking distance to a variety of shops, food and gas stations. Very clean, nice staff. We were given a doggie treat at check-in. Choose from a wide selection of seating to enjoy your morning meal. We went to the area for the Christmas holiday to spend time with family. Quiet (even sitting between 2 busy streets), clean, everything worked. So my family of 5 + MIL got a 2 bedroom suite for a decent deal here, but I was very surprised and disappointed when we pulled up and saw it's actually a motel with the rooms/doors directly facing the parking lot. This hotel met our needs for one night while traveling the coast of OR. Bed was comfortable and our room was quiet. They even had someone come set it up. Breakfast options were varied and there's something for everyone's taste/diet. Breakfast was solid and service was friendly all the way around. Lots of convenient restaurants. Staff is very friendly. Prices had been raised as it was high season and there was a community celebration occurring which had most of the hotels in town full to capacity with a lot of young people. They offer up a standard breakfast fare - including scrambled eggs, sausage etc., to instant oatmeal, juices, coffees etc. Great little town. Upon check-in, I was greeted by Ann at the front desk. We were so surprised to find no room service. The room was clean and everything was jus perfect. Breakfast included the standard fare and much, much more. The location was close to the boardwalk and easy accessibility to restaurants, gas, ocean and all within walking distance. It is centrally located so you can walk to town. Very hospitable staff. One day rainy which I could understand the connection being iffy. Friendly, helpful staff!, We would stay here again. Nothing but an *I'm sorry* from the motel. Nothing extraordinary happened to be like wow this is amazing, but everything sure seemed pretty close to perfect- and if something is close to perfect involving a last minute stay at a hotel in an area you have never been before then...it probably was extraordinary in itself actually. I am very disappointed to see that we did not meet your expectations. From the looks driving around town it might be the best place in town. Across from the river so it was easy to have an interesting, historical walk. Still, it's a nice little place, and the location in the midst of central Coos Bay is convenient. Had a great stay. We stayed here over July 4th weekend and the fireworks were literally in front of our window. Even after we pointed out that one of their guest's vehicles was blocking the wheel chair ramp, they did not ask the patron to move the vehicle, the vehicle remained their for the following 24 hours. However, there is now a construction site directly adjacent to the hotel. It was fine, but ask for bedding extras early if you need it. Despite the fleas I was still happy with our stay. Welcome to the Best Western Holiday Hotel, providing a retreat for exploring the Oregon Coast and Dunes, lighthouse, beaches, historic sites and many different festivals and events. It too needed a coat of paint for sure . Being that the hotel is on a major highway was extremely noisy and very hard to sleep. We ran both air conditioners all night, but never heard a peep from traffic or other guests. Nice Hotel Great staff located in historic section of Coos Bay. My room has a full size refrigerator, stove & microwave, I am fairly certain most of the rooms don't have a kitchenette. No elevator so it was very inconvenient to haul 2 large bags up the stairs.
